it’s a web world

Welcome to European readers!

Yesterday I checked out the statistics page for this website and discovered an amazing amount of traffic from two weblogs in Europe. One of them, from Belgium, is called Mothers Against Incest.

From the stats page, I also learned that–of all the pages on the Strong At the Heart website–the blog you are reading is the most popular spot, followed by “books and films” and then “interviews.”

So right here, I have to apologize for not having the interviews up yet. Hopefully by the end of this month I’ll have excerpts from the book and new material about some of the people in Strong at the Heart ready to go up on pop-ups linked to that page. New material will include a photo of Jenner and her sweetie with their surfboards and her first reaction on seeing her story in print.

places to go

“Was writing this book hard for you because of your past sexual abuse?” This is one of the questions I was asked by Publishers Weekly/Children’s Bookshelf editor Joy Bean in a recent interview. You can read the answer and the rest of our conversation here.

You might want to check out Chris Crutcher’s recommended reading. His extensive site is rich with material about books for teens.

And if you are interested in children’s books and writing, have a look at author Kelly Milner Hall’s website. It’s well worth a visit.
